Trump Says ‘Good Chance’ of Deal With Taliban

WASHINGTON—President Trump claimed Thursday the U.S. is near to signing a deal with the Taliban to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan, and that the outcome of negotiations would be very clear in the upcoming two months.

It was the 1st time Mr. Trump has acknowledged the U.S. was near to an accord with the Taliban since talks fell apart last September, when both of those sides were being on the cusp of a deal.
